Established in 1878, Edinburgh University Association Football Club is the third oldest club in East of Scotland football and has been a member of the Scottish Football Association (S.F.A) since that year. In fact Edinburgh University was one of the founder members of the SFA and therefore the club has been eligible to compete in the Scottish Cup every season.

The University of Edinburgh offers comprehensive hockey clubs for both men and women. Both sectors of the club run a total of seven teams that cater for all abilities. The 1st XI sides compete week after week in the Scottish National League and they regularly qualify for the BUSA Championships. The social side at the club also flourishes with regular events being organised throughout the academic year.

With a commonwealth medalist as our coach we are achieving excellent results in various competitions whilst still having time for fun and games in the sessions. With the first three sessions free for beginners (in september), it's worth coming and having a try.

Edinburgh University Cycling Club is for all cyclists. The majority of club members choose to ride and race within the three disciplines; road, cross country and downhill. Mountain bike and road rides leave from the city center at least twice a week and with regular trips away there are plenty of opportunities to discover what the area has to offer you and your bike.
Edinburgh University Amateur Boxing Club
Founded in 1896, we are one of the oldest University Boxing Clubs in the UK. Each year we consistently produce fighters of the highest calibre who go on to compete across Britain. We have four, two hour training sessions a week at the University's Centre for Sport and Exercise. The club is open to everyone from beginners to pros.

The highly successful Edinburgh University Squash Club is based at the Centre of Sport and Exercise at the Pleasance and offers free training courts to its members three times per week. The club offers team squash for a variety of standards by entering teams in the British Universities, East of Scotland and Edinburgh University Intra-Mural Leagues. The club caters for all standards and we have a well-established social side which everyone is welcome to join!

Do you want to be a cheerleader? Well you can! The Vixens hold open classes every Monday during term-time. Mondays, 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Potterrow Chaplaincy . These are open to anyone and you can come as regularly as you like. Classes cost £2, or £3 for non-members. Membership to the Vixens costs £10 per semester. At these sessions you can learn dance routines, arm movements and cheers, plus basic kicks, jumps and stunts.

From foreign/arthouse/classic films on Tuesdays in the Pleasance Theatre, cult hits on Thursdays in Teviot Terrace Bar and spectacular blockbusters on Sundays in George Square Theatre, there is something to suit everyone's tastes.
New Scotland Country Dance Society
We are the New Scotland Country Dance Society at Edinburgh University. We hold classes in many styles of Scottish dancing: country, ceilidh, highland and step. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced dancer looking to polish up your footwork, we've got the right class for you! We also have lots of fun social events!

Eager to try as much wine as you can? Or just after a great night out? Then come check us out. Edinburgh University Wine Society meets every week during termtime on Monday nights (7:00 p.m. till 9:00) to try a number of great wines in good company. Not only do guest speakers help us learn more about the fasinating world of viticulture, but members are also invited to join our tasting team to get involved in challenges against fellow universities.

Wind Band - EUWB is a non-auditioning windband who specialise in socialising and fun! It acts as an alternative to the more serious music ensembles. If you want to join simply turn up at one of our rehearsals which are 7:00pm every Wednesday night during term-time in the Reid Hall.

Edinburgh University Poker Society
You can join the Edinburgh University Poker Society if you are a student or have been a student, guests are allowed to come and play as long as they are accompanied by a student. To compete in any poker society tournament one must first become a member. Membership costs £5 for students and £10 for non-students. This money goes towards buying chips and cards and general running costs of the society.

As a society, our energies are centred around the active participation of members in projects over the summer holidays. In the past we have ran projects in Africa, Asia and South America.
